Meet John Kenyon: Senior Software Engineer, Maker Enthusiast, and DSCSA Expert

What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?

In my downtime, I love diving into ‘maker’ projects that involve microcontrollers, electronics, 3D printing, and low-level programming. In fact, a few years back, in the early days when these components were difficult to come by, I owned a website dedicated to supplying parts, kits, motors, gears, and more to hobbyists and high school robotic enthusiasts.

Can you tell us about your start in IT and how it led you to IPC?

Since my early days, I’ve been drawn to the world of computers and electronics. Growing up in a time when schools didn’t offer computer classes, I did my initial programming on a time-share terminal in the high school hallway. My journey to IPC began when I was eager to transition out of the consulting business. The moment I connected with IPC during the interview process, I was impressed (and still am) by the culture. It’s incredible to see how many longstanding employees consider IPC their professional home.

Do you have a favorite IPC project you’ve worked on recently? How was it rewarding?

What’s the next place on your travel bucket list?
