A Champion for Independent Pharmacy
Published: September 9, 2025

IPC believes it is important to highlight the critical importance of having champions for independent pharmacy in Washington. Our political engagement is not about partisan politics; it is about supporting those who have a proven record of understanding and fighting for the issues that determine the future of our businesses and the patients we serve.
This year at the McKesson ideaShare tradeshow, we were honored to have Congressman Buddy Carter spend significant time in our booth, engaging directly with our members on the challenges we face. His long-standing commitment to passing legislation that regulates PBMs and supports independent community pharmacies has been undeniable. He has been a consistent and effective voice for our cause and a proven champion for independent pharmacy with demonstrated leadership and dedication needed to bring about meaningful change.

Congressman Carter is now running for the U.S. Senate, a race that will be closely watched. IPC believes it is important to inform our members about key advocates and the opportunities to further their work.
The congressman’s campaign is a platform to continue elevating the priorities of independent pharmacy on a national stage. For those members who are personally interested in supporting advocacy efforts, contributing to a proven champion is one way to ensure our voice remains strong. If you wish to learn more about his campaign, you can do so here: Buddy Carter for Senate.
Our collective focus remains on advancing policies that ensure the viability of independent community pharmacy. We will continue to work with all elected officials and candidates who demonstrate a genuine commitment to that mission.
Thank you for all you do.
