Advocacy in Action
IPC advanced legislative priorities that strengthened the sustainability of independent pharmacies while continuing to advocate for meaningful reform. At the federal level, IPC lobbied Congress to enact Medicaid and Medicare PBM reform and conducted a legislative fly in with IPC board members to elevate these issues directly with policymakers in Washington, DC. The Government Relations team also educated members on the upcoming Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program scheduled to begin in 2026. At the state level, the team played a key advocacy role in advancing cost-based reimbursement and PBM oversight, including legislative wins in Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, Minnesota, Nevada, Virginia, Illinois, and California. These efforts were reinforced through direct engagement at events such as McKesson ideaShare, where members met with U.S. Representatives Buddy Carter and Diana Harshbarger to elevate the voice of independent pharmacy. In addition, IPC conducted 18 grassroots advocacy call to action campaigns in 2025, generating 3,672 responses from member pharmacies and their patients to Members of Congress, state legislators, governors, and regulators. We are grateful to our members for being IPC’s strongest advocacy partners and for lending their voices to help advance policies that protect independent pharmacy and the communities they serve.
Delivering Meaningful Financial Value to Members
IPC continued its commitment to strengthening the financial health of independent pharmacies by distributing more than $90 million in total value to our members over the past year. This included $72.2 million in cash rebates and $18.4 million through the 2024 Patronage Dividend and the 2022 retained equity payout. In addition, Pharmacy Select (RTL2), the nation’s premier backup generic contract, experienced significant growth in 2025 and delivered an average of $50,000 in savings for a typical $4 million pharmacy. These returns reflect IPC’s long-standing promise to share 100 percent of our profits with the members who make our cooperative strong. By returning value through rebates, dividends, and earned equity, IPC helps support cash flow, stability, and long-term growth for your pharmacy.

Partnerships Driving Meaningful Impact
IPC continued to expand strategic partnerships that helped independent pharmacies grow, adapt, and better serve their patients. Through our collaboration with Legacy Pharmacy Group, IPC broadened access to streamlined supply chain support, competitive pricing opportunities, digital health services through iCare+, and coordinated legislative advocacy that advanced community pharmacy. IPC also strengthened its digital health ecosystem by partnering with Uber Direct, giving pharmacies using iCare+ access to expanded same day and on-demand medication delivery capabilities. Additionally, IPC’s partnership with Clover Health helped position members to work directly with payors, supporting improved medication adherence, stronger patient outcomes, and an elevated role for independent pharmacies within value-based care models. Together, these partnerships reflected IPC’s ongoing commitment to innovation, access, and long-term sustainability for its members and their communities.

IPC Board Leadership Transitions
In 2025, IPC recognized an important transition in board leadership while continuing to strengthen governance for the future. We extend our sincere gratitude to Paul Grisnik for his 11 years of dedicated service on the IPC Board of Directors. Paul’s leadership, insight, and long-standing commitment to independent pharmacy helped guide IPC through meaningful growth and change, and we thank him for the lasting impact he made on the cooperative.
In September, IPC also welcomed Kyle Beyer, owner of North Shore Pharmacies, to the Board of Directors. With six years of pharmacy ownership experience, Kyle brings a community focused perspective shaped by his philosophy of keeping it simple and keeping it local. He thoughtfully tailors each of his two pharmacies to meet the unique needs of the neighborhoods they serve. Kyle’s commitment to independent pharmacy and patient centered care aligns strongly with IPC’s mission, and we look forward to the insight and leadership he brings to the board as we continue supporting members nationwide.

Turning Education Into Sustainable Growth
IPC’s Pharmacy Services team focused on helping members grow through education, consultation, and professional support. The team offered free continuing education programs including Integrating RPM into Community Pharmacy and Immunization in Action Addressing Gaps and Expanding Access Through the Pharmacy, along with the NCPA hosted webinar Transform Your Pharmacy in 2026, designed to help pharmacies plan strategically for the year ahead. In addition to education, the Pharmacy Services team supported nearly 500 member pharmacies through one-on-one consultations in 2025. These efforts were complemented by continued growth in the Vendor Advantage Network, with over 1,700 IPC members now enrolled, and eight new vendors added this year. Together, these initiatives reinforced IPC’s commitment to providing meaningful guidance and solutions that help independent pharmacies build stronger, more sustainable operations.
Celebrating Our Members
IPC proudly celebrated the milestones and achievements of our members across the country. Independent pharmacies opened their doors for the first time, while longtime members marked meaningful anniversaries that reflect decades of commitment to patient care and community service. From California to Connecticut, these moments highlighted the strength and momentum of independent pharmacy, with Oswald’s Pharmacy celebrating 150 years as the largest milestone of the year. IPC also named Wilmington Pharmacy as the 2025 Dan Moudry Most Valuable Pharmacy, recognizing co-owners Jitesh Zala and Nisha Zala for their leadership, personalized care, and lasting impact on patients and their teams. These celebrations honored the dedication of our members and continued to inspire excellence across the IPC community.
Recognized as a Top Workplace
IPC continued to be recognized as a Top Workplace at both the national and regional levels. In addition, IPC was recognized for excellence across multiple categories including Innovation, Leadership, Work Life Flexibility, Purpose and Values, Distribution Industry, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Well Being, and Professional Development. These honors reflected IPC’s ongoing commitment to building a workplace culture that supports growth, collaboration, and meaningful work in service of independent pharmacy.
