Meet the Candidates

Amr Hilal

Amr Hillal, RPh

Owner, Texas Road Pharmacy Old Bridge and Spotswood Pharmacy

Amr is seeking a board seat to contribute a 360-degree perspective across retail pharmacy, purchasing, and distribution. As a longtime owner who remains connected to daily operations, he aims to help IPC pursue strategies that are both visionary and executable for independent pharmacies.

Beshoy Gerges

Beshoy Gerges, PharmD

Owner, St. Mary Pharmacy Northridge and Chatsworth

Beshoy is seeking another term to help IPC stay responsive as pharmacy practice and healthcare continue to evolve. His experience as both an owner and current board member allows him to bring continuity, collaboration, and a forward-looking perspective to support member success.

Ghada Abukuwaik, RPh

Owner, Curemed

Ghada is running to bring practical, experience-based solutions to the IPC Board. With decades of hands-on experience across clinical services, compounding, long-term care, and high-volume operations, she is focused on improving workflows, addressing reimbursement challenges, and strengthening the sustainability of independent pharmacy.

Kari VanderHouwen, RPh

Owner, Pharm-A-Save Granite Falls

Kari is seeking re-election to continue advocating for sustainable business models and a strong collective voice for independent pharmacies. With more than three decades behind the counter and deep involvement in state and national advocacy, she brings continuity, experience, and a clear focus on delivering tangible value to members.

John is running to continue guiding IPC through some of the most challenging and transformative years in independent pharmacy. As a current board member and multi-store owner, he is focused on advancing government affairs efforts, supporting innovation, and ensuring pharmacies are equipped to compete in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
