MTF Enrollment Reminders
Enrollment is open now! Visit mtf.cms.gov to begin the enrollment process.
The MTF will facilitate the effectuation of the negotiated maximum fair prices (MFPs) for drugs in the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program. Enrolling in the MTF Data Module will provide your pharmacy with a key tool as you dispense drugs with negotiated MFPs under the Part D program beginning on January 1, 2026. Following enrollment, your pharmacy will have access to important information, like manufacturer MFP Effectuation Plans (when available in Fall 2025) and claim status reporting .
CMS is using the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) Pharmacy Database to identify and validate initial dispensing entity users, or “first users,” for access to the MTF.
This “first user” is responsible for verifying their identity via CMS’ Identity Management (IDM) system, creating an account with the MTF, and attesting to their role in their organization for the MTF. Please note that certain information is required to register with the IDM system. In addition, the “first user” will be responsible for inviting downstream users from their organization to register for access to the MTF. The entire enrollment process may take up to an hour, depending on whether you have an existing account with CMS’ IDM system for other CMS programs, and whether you plan to rely on up-to-date data from the NCPDP Pharmacy Database.
The information that is contained in the NCPDP Pharmacy Database for your pharmacy at the time of enrollment is what the MTF will rely upon to both 1) identify and validate “first users,” and 2) pre-populate certain fields in the MTF if permitted by the dispensing entity. Please ensure this information is accurate and up to date prior to beginning the enrollment process. If, while completing your enrollment, you find that you need to update your NCPDP data, please note that it may take at least 2 weeks from the date of your update until when the refreshed NCPDP data is available to support your enrollment.
If you have started the process but have not certified your MTF enrollment, further action is required to complete the MTF enrollment process; please be sure to revisit the enrollment module to complete the form and certify your enrollment.
