    Florida Becomes the Latest State to Enact Important PBM Legislation. After months of IPC's coordinated effort as part of the Florida Independent Pharmacy Network to advocate for the "Drug Pricing Transparency Act" we have achieved success! Florida's Governor Rick Scott signed HB351 into law on March 23rd!

    On March 15, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson signed a PBM Licensure Bill into law, granting power to the insurance commission to regulate how PBMs operate in the state and hold them accountable for their practices. The Arkansas Pharmacist Association recently reported that of 270 commonly used medications, the spread between what was paid to pharmacies and billed to the state was on average more than $60.

    California Implements New Controlled Drug Physical Inventory Requirements. The Board of Pharmacy has adopted a new regulation requiring pharmacies and clinics to perform a periodic inventory reconciliation for all controlled substances, including a physical count of Schedule II controlled substances every three months.
