Since the Pennsylvania State Auditor General's highly critical reports of Pennsylvania's Medicaid Managed care PBM-run prescription program, IPC has been working with the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association and other Pennsylvania pharmacy groups to have the Pennsylvania House act on the following legislative MCO prescription drug benefit reform package:
- HB 941 (Reps. Heffley & Matzie) Fair MCO Rx Reimbursement and Transparency
- HB 942 (Rep. Grove) Medicaid Formulary Input Expansion
- HB 943 (Rep. Gaydos) Pharmacy and Pharmacist Gag Order Prohibitions
- HB 944 (Rep. Fritz) MCO PBM Contract Auditing
Our coalition's hard work is paying off, this package is scheduled for PA House Floor votes tomorrow!
Your State Representative (find them here) needs to hear from you TODAY at their State Capitol office. Urge them to VOTE YES on the entire package, including the amendments to HB 941 and HB 943. If you belong to the District of any of these bill sponsors, thank them for supporting these pro-patient and pro-pharmacy MCO PBM reform bills.
Take the five minutes to make this call - they need to hear from as many people as possible! The PBM's are not going to let these changes happen without a fight. Read the op-ed the Big PBM lobby put out this weekend in Pennsylvania attacking PA Medicaid high impact independent pharmacies as greedy:
Don't just get mad - get involved and contact your State Representative today and ask them to vote YES on the MCO PBM reform package to keep you serving the most vulnerable Pennsylvanians. Encourage every community pharmacy owner you know to contact their State Representative as well.
The time is now to get Harrisburg to stand up for PA pharmacy patients and their Main Street pharmacies over the Wall Street PBMs.
IPC is committed to working in Pennsylvania with our industry partners to reform the MCO Prescription program, but your grassroots involvement is critical to this effort. Act now to contact your PA State House member!
