IPC has worked closely with Michigan pharmacy stakeholders to support Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer's fall initiative to move all Michigan Medicaid prescriptions away from Medicaid Managed Care back to Michigan's fee-for-service (FFS) program.
After completing two public comment periods and several meetings with pharmacy and other stakeholders, Michigan's pharmacy community is expecting the Whitmer Administration to announce a decision on pharmacy policy 1936 before the end of the week.
While it is not known what the final action of Governor Whitmer's Administration will be on the Medicaid prescription benefit program administration, we are urging all our Michigan stores to become active as part of a social media campaign. Starting today, join us in urging her to make reforms that end the PBM abuses in a way that benefits Michigan taxpayers, Medicaid patients and their community pharmacy providers. Please go to the IPC social media sites (Twitter: @ipcrx, Facebook: Independent Pharmacy Cooperative, LinkedIn: Independent Pharmacy Cooperative) - follow us if you're not already - and like, share, retweet and comment on our posts.
We know the PBMs and Health Plans, including Michigan Blue Cross and Blue Shield, are pushing back hard to stop this carve out proposal from being adopted. Please add your voice to the effort to fix this PBM abuse by joining our social media campaign today and tomorrow to support Governor Whitmer in taking action.
Act now to protect your future!
