Pennsylvania State Senate to Vote on Medicaid Managed Care PBM Reforms

January 15, 2020

In November we asked you to reach out to your State House Representative to express support for a bipartisan package of bills. IPC continues to work with the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association and other Pennsylvania pharmacy groups to support these bills. The following legislative MCO prescription drug benefit reform package is now before the state Senate.

  • HB 941 (Reps. Heffley & Matzie)  Fair MCO Rx Reimbursement and Transparency
  • HB 942 (Rep. Grove)  Medicaid Formulary Input Expansion
  • HB 943 (Rep. Gaydos)  Pharmacy and Pharmacist Gag Order Prohibitions
  • HB 944 (Rep. Fritz)  MCO PBM Contract Auditing

In the time leading up to the State Senate’s vote we need you to reach out to your state senator to voice your support for this entire package. Take five minutes to call your legislator; they need to hear from as many of us as possible before these bills are up for a vote.

Thanks to your support these bills passed through the House of Representatives in November. Your support is needed again to push them through the State Senate and onto the Governor’s desk. This package of legislation will go a long way to protect independent pharmacies and your customers, it’s a win for all Pennsylvanians.

IPC is committed to working in Pennsylvania with our industry partners to see these bills through to the end. Reforming the MCO prescription program is critical for all independent pharmacies, but it can’t get done without your involvement at the grassroots level. Act now to protect independent pharmacy in Pennsylvania.
