USP <800> Implementation Date of December 2019

USP <800> was published on Feb. 1, 2016 with an implementation date of Dec. 2019. The purpose of the chapter is to describe practice and quality standards for handling hazardous drugs in health care settings and help promote patient and worker safety, as well as environmental protection.

Since the 800 chapter is tied to USP <795> and <797>, which were delayed and appealed, it is entirely up to the states if they will utilize the existing <800> requirements as a standard of care.
